August 2 Tip of the Week

OSHA has issued a new Interim Enforcement Response Plan that recommends implementing multiple layers of control to protect unvaccinated or partially vaccinated employees.  This could include mask wearing, social distancing, improving ventilation, and implementing or continuing work from home policies.  OSHA inspectors have been tasked with determining whether your methods for verifying vaccination status are effective, and employers who fail to protect unvaccinated or partially vaccinated employees could be cited under the General Duty clause.  Don’t just reward or relax standards for those who claim to be vaccinated-make sure your unvaccinated or partially vaccinated employees are given full consideration and devote your best efforts to protecting them from COVID-19 exposure in the workplace.
