HR Chat: Holiday Vacation Days
As the holiday season approaches, you send out the paid holiday schedule to your employees. As a benefit, all hourly and salaried employees will be paid their full 8 hour compensation. One of your employees sends you an email stating they do not celebrate those holidays, and requests to switch the days off to the days that they do celebrate due to their religion. Do you legally need to grant this request for this one employee?
Situations like this can be tricky for businesses and difficult for your HR department. With your ASK HR subscription at myHRcounsel, our attorneys advise you on labor law compliance, workplace policies and everyday employee relations so you can navigate the complexities of HR legal issues with confidence and ease.
