Heads up for a massive increase in class action suits against companies that use background checks. In 2019, the 9th Circuit (CA, AZ, AK, WA, OR, NV) concluded employers were liable for various things contained in the standard Authorization and Disclosure forms most if not all background checking companies provide candidates. There are many forms we still see that violate the law, and if you look at the lawsuits against companies, the civil penalties are in the millions.
